The Institute for Law and Economic Policy is a public policy research and educational foundation -- a think tank -- established to preserve, study, and enhance access to the civil justice system by all consumers.

Column

The goal of the Institute for Law and Economic Policy (ILEP) is to formulate policy positions on issues involving the administration of civil justice within the American legal system.

These issues include existing legal protections of all consumers and protection of the public interest in maintaining a safe environment. In addition, ILEP has especially focused on issues of government regulation, preservation of competition, and free and fair markets.

ILEP is a not-for-profit corporation with tax deductible 501(c)(3) status.

SEC COMMISIONER ROBERTJACKSON TO KEYNOTE ILEP CONFERENCE IN NYC OCT. 26, 2018

The Institute of Law and Economic Policy is proud to announce that SEC Commissioner Robert Jackson will deliver the keynote address at its conference to be held in NYC on Friday October 26, 2018. The conference, co-sponsored by Cornell and Vanderbilt Law Schools, and Huntington Bank, will also feature panels on Whistleblower actions and Block Chain Technology and financial transactions. Presenters and panelists will include Professors Charles Whitehead (Cornell); Amanda Rose (Vanderbilt), Sean Griffith (Fordham), Randall Thomas (Vanderbilt) and Jordan Thomas (Labaton Sucharow).

For 25 years, ILEP has sponsored symposiums at which distinguished academics have presented papers on securities fraud class actions, many of which have been cited in leading court decisions, including Halliburton and Amgen. Past commentators at the symposiums have included leaders of the plaintiffs and defendants securities litigation bar, as well as a host of SDNY jurists.

The conference with take place at the Cornell Club in midtown Manhattan on Friday October 26, 2018 from 8:30 to 1:30 (including luncheon). CLE credits will be available.
